How to Style Every Shade of Denim
We know how difficult it can be to style every different shade of denim you have in your closet! If you are like me and practically live in jeans, it is very important to properly style them. No worries if you are confused, I am here to clear those fuzzy thoughts today!
1. White Denim
White denim is a large step outside of many people's comfort zone (including mine). Although I own a few pairs of white jeans I have barely ever worn them for reasons not needing an explanation. For white denim, you almost want to pick a textured, grainy, or stoney look to the jean to keep the look clean cut and classy. The best colours to pair with white denim are: grey, khaki, brown, deep blues and black. White denim jackets can also look great paired with black slacks or jeans.
2. Deep/Dark Denim
Deep denim is that dark indigo blue we all love and have in our closet but don't know how to wear it. Often times, I personally don't reach for the deep denim because it almost looks too rich and dark for me. Usually speaking, the deeper the denim, the more formal the denim and outfit can look. Deep denim is best worn ripped and in that "mom-jean" style often with the edges rolled up. The best colours to pair with deep denim are: beige, white, olive green, black.
3. Light Denim
Light denim is probably the most fashionable, versatile, and easy type of denim there is! There are many possibilities on how to wear this shade of denim and what to wear it with. Think of 90's culture when following the rules on how to wear light denim, think ripped details, frayed hems, and loose figures paired with either baggy hoodies or tight tees. Sweatshirts and t-shirts alike look great with light denim as do contrast colours. The best colours to pair with light denim are: white, green, navy blue, pale pink.

4. Mid Coloured Denim
"Mid" denim is that awkward colour between your lights and your darks that you never know which laundry pile to put them in or what to wear them with. Mid denim is also that almost that "dirty" looking denim because it has brown, olive and grey undertones beneath the blue denim. Mid denim is best pulled off as an edgier type look with a leather jacket and maybe some loafers or dress shoes. The best colours to pair with mid denim are: brown, black, white, green, blue

5. Black Denim
Black denim is also among the easier of denims to play with because honestly, everything pretty much goes with black! I suggest really investing in a number of good quality, easy wash black jeans. These jeans also look best in the skinny or slimmer cute because let's be honest, a black jean in a mom cut looks like an emo, angsty teen emerging. The best colours to pair with black jeans are: white, black, grey, pastel colours, bright colours.
